Home 2 suites philadelphia pa11/13/2023 ![]() Around the area towards the lifts are four computers and printing facilities. There are three elevators (lifts) at the rear of reception to take you to the higher floors, in my case, the third floor. The Reception booked us in with the normal Hilton efficiency and with a warm welcome told me about the facilities and answered my questions about the internet and breakfast. It is only a short walk from Jefferson to the hotel even with our luggage. We chose the Home2Suites for its location especially as we could travel from the airport to Jefferson on the SEPTA trains for $6.75 each for the single journey rather than a taxi (estimated at $26). This hotel is the love child between a Hilton and an IKEA.I was looking for a great hotel, close to the city centre of Philadelphia for a couples holiday. I mean, given the choice, who wouldn't opt to go there for a great breakfast, some incredible pastries and a perfect latte? I think someone else hit it spot on. But the Reading Terminal Market is right across the street. In my book the free breakfast was just OK. My room was quiet, but another in our party had boisterous neighbors and had to resort to ear plugs to sleep one night. I moved one of the lamps, problem solved. I found the rooms a little dark at the desk area. They will provide cooktop upon request I only had one (minor) complaint. The rooms have a microwave, good sized refrigerator, sink and dishwasher. The rooms were brand new (in fact they are still awaiting installation of the little built-in LED lights on the headboards). The service was professional, helpful and very friendly. In short, this hotel has a PERFECT location. Rittenhouse Square is a nice (but a bit longer) walk. It is an easy walk to Independence Hall, Chinatown, City Hall and the Arts district. ![]() It is directly across the street from the Reading Terminal Market, 1/2 block from the Convention Center and a block from the SEPTA station. A potion of our group stayed in the new Home2 Suites at the Convention Center. I recently attended a convention in Philadelphia. Overall, an awesome deal for my purposes. But I guess that's why the market is just across the hotel. Breakfast spread is pretty basic and notably lacking a good selection of fruits. For the room rate, breakfast and Wi-Fi are included (along with everything you think you'd need in the room should you decide to stay in ~ microwave, seating area (2-seater lounge), pull out dining table, separate work station. Hotel has super friendly staff and the decor is fresh and contemporary (funky furniture, nice youthful colours). ![]() ![]() with a charming boutique for Philly souvenirs as well as a number of interesting restaurants like Jamonero, Barbuzzo, Sampan. Also within walking distance is City Hall and a few useful stores like Macy's, Walgreens, CVS and not far away is 13th St. A short walk down Market Street (at the corner of Marriott) is a stop for several sight-seeing double decker buses. It is right across Reading Terminal Market which has the best donuts in the world (Beiler's Amish hand-rolled donuts) and across Philadelphia Convention center. I booked myself into this hotel at the tail-end of a training that I had attended so that I could explore Philadelphia.
